Why Carnelian?
 
The name carnelian comes from the Latin word "Carneus", which means flesh, in reference to the color of the stone. This stone was also Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite crystal. The french emperor was given a Carnelian as a gift during his campaign in Egypt. He had it installed on his portable watch & carried it with him.

Many muslim legends also claim that Mohammed, the prophet, had a carnelian ring that was known to bring him good luck. Roman soldiers of high rank often had carnelian stone engraved on their helmets. They believed it would give them courage, confidence and protection on the battlefield.
